Rabiatul Asqiah holds a Bachelor's degree in Craft from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Padangpanjang (2018). Operating through both individual and collective practices, her work revolves around experimental modern batik, moving away from rigid, conventional patterns toward vibrant, narrative-driven visual compositions. She has showcased her work across various national platforms including cultural centers in Jambi and Padang, as well as Yogyakarta State University and participated in international events such as the World Costume Festival in the Philippines.

Utilizing full hand-drawn batik (batik tulis) techniques with remazol dyes on primisima cotton, Asqiah creates dense, highly saturated compositions that blend traditional motifs with painterly storytelling. Her practice explores themes of archipelagic folklore, cultural identity, indigenous relationships with nature, and personal lineage such as the maternal transmission of craft heritage. By combining vivid color palettes with intricate figurative elements, she transforms traditional wax-resist dyeing into a contemporary medium for preserving and reinterpreting Indonesian cultural memory
