For more than a decade, REDBASE Foundation has hosted artists from across the world in a traditional Javanese house in the village of Bangunharjo, on the edge of Yogyakarta. We are now excited to announce our 2026–2027 residency program, offering two months of dedicated studio space and accommodation, beginning in January in Yogyakarta, and, on a rare and limited basis, in Sydney. Past residents — from Indonesia, Australia, Korea, Poland, Canada and beyond — have gone on to win the UOB Painting of the Year and the Sovereign Asian Art Prize, and to exhibit from São Paulo to Hong Kong. Residents immerse themselves in their work, engage with our neighbouring community, and conclude with a solo or group exhibition.
