Friction & Prajurit Kalah Tanpa Raja brings together two distinct exhibitions presented simultaneously at REDBASE Foundation Yogyakarta. Friction, showcases the residency output of Bandung artist Abshar Platisza, who explored vernacular photography archives and local agrarian rhythms along the Opak River to question notions of space, time, and social stagnation.

Running alongside it, Prajurit Kalah Tanpa Raja marks the launch of Mural #2 and an exhibition by Yogyakarta artist Prihatmoko Moki. Using the soldiers of the Kraton Jogja as a metaphor for disoriented citizens, Moki examines a decaying urban society struggling against aggressive corporate development, shrinking public spaces, and lost community values. Together, the two shows form a nuanced dialogue on social friction, urban transformation, and modern Javanese identity
