Indonesian batik artist Fikky Ananda (b. 1996, Blitar) earned her degree in Craft from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta and currently operates between Bantul and the wider international art scene. Specializing in contemporary textile and batik art, her practice reinterprets traditional wax-resist and naphtol dye techniques on cotton and primisima fabrics into expressive, figurative visual narratives. She has earned national recognition, including top accolades from the Ministry of Education and Culture as well as ISI Surakarta and represented Indonesian textile arts at international exhibitions in France and New Caledonia.

Working across broad-scale textile canvases, Ananda approaches batik as a dynamic, universal language capable of bridging cultural boundaries. Her works respond to everyday human behaviors, socio-cultural ironies, and personal reflections, ranging from critiques on power dynamics and economic survival to surreal compositions on human resilience.
