The End of Journey
Solo Exhibition - 20 September – 20 October, 2014
REDBASE Jakarta Indonesia
The End of Journey presents Balinese artist I Made Widya Diputra (Lampung) in an exploration of epic narratives from the Mahabharata and Baratayudha, featuring key scenes such as the fall of Bisma alongside figures like Sengkuni and the Kurawa. Using shadow play tales as a lens to address contemporary human issues and life guidance, Lampung translates these puppetry stories into sculpted artworks adorned with intricate leather costumes. The exhibition highlights his continuous material experimentation, seamlessly combining leather and silicon while integrating hand crafted metal accessories like swords and buckles to bridge traditional mythology with modern artistic form.
