Li Kezheng is a Chinese painter based in Beijing, who paints hard-edge geometries that float in hazy voids of space. His paintings evoke spiritual contemplations guided by Eastern thought on the state of being. Influenced by Western philosophies on truth found in geometry and the notion of the so-called "end of art" found in Western abstraction, Kezheng finds aesthetic openings through Eastern sensibilities on colour, enclosure, and separation.Kezheng studied realist painting at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts where he graduated in 2008. Here, he made a formal break towards abstraction and developed his distinct visual style.

He has since exhibited in notable institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art in Kraków, Poland, and extensively across China at the Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing; White Box Art Museum, Beijing; and HOW Museum, Wenzhou. Li opened his first solo exhibition Edge Mirror in 2017 at White Box Art Museum, Beijing. In 2026, he exhibited in two exhibitions at REDBASE Sydney, including the duo show There is no storyline with Jingwei Bu and the group show Eastern Abstraction.
